The Spicy Side of Utah

Welcome to Utah, land of salt and bees - where we like our jello extra green with a large serving of carrots. Did you know our jello obsession came from Mexico? Alright, it didn't…but did you know Utah was once a Mexican territory and their ethnic cuisine continues to have an influence on our palate today?

With our diverse population, many Hispanic restaurants have become a staple in Utah. Some of our favorite local places to eat around the Salt Lake and Ogden areas are: Bella’s Fresh Mexican Grill, Red Iguana, Ricardo’s Mexican Restaurant and Chungas.

While chewing on your chimichanga, check out these fun films: The Mask of Zorro, Three Amigos and Zorro, The Gay Blade. If you are more of a musical person, sing along with the cast of Andrew Lloyd Weber's Evita.

What are some of your favorite restaurants and movies? Share them with me here and on Facebook.
